Krya Dwii 2-Step Henna Indigo Hair Colour for Grey Hair – Deepest Black, Free from PPD, Ammonia & Resorcinol
Dwii is a premium 2-step henna and indigo hair colour system designed for high grey coverage and resistant greys that require stronger colour binding and deeper pigment deposition. By separating the colouring process into two steps, indigo binds more effectively to grey hair, creating richer, longer-lasting black coverage than most single-step herbal colours.
Formulated with pigment-rich indigo, high-lawsone Sojat henna, and Ayurvedic scalp-supporting herbs, Dwii helps colour high-grey hair more effectively while also improving hair texture, strength, and conditioning over time. Unlike generic henna–indigo powders, Krya processes whole herbs in-house using traditional Ayurvedic methods to create a pure, contamination-free formulation that performs more reliably on resistant greys.

Krya Dwii 2-Step Henna Indigo Hair Colour for High Grey Coverage & Resistant Greys
What Dwii is
Dwii is a premium 2-step henna and indigo hair colour system designed for high grey coverage and resistant greys that need stronger binding and deeper black results. It is Krya’s strongest option for users who need a more thorough colouring approach for richer and more stable black results.
Why the 2-step system works better
By separating the colouring process into two Ayurvedic steps, Dwii allows henna to build a complete base layer on grey hair before the indigo-based colour system is applied. This layered approach helps black pigments anchor more effectively to resistant greys, creating fuller, more stable, and longer-lasting coverage than simpler single-step herbal colours.
What makes Dwii different
Both steps combine pigment-rich colouring herbs with Ayurvedic scalp- and hair-supporting herbs to improve colour uptake, conditioning, texture, and overall hair feel after colouring.
Unlike generic henna–indigo powders, Krya processes whole herbs in-house using traditional Ayurvedic methods to create a pure formulation without PPD, ammonia, peroxide, resorcinol, metallic salts, silicones, or synthetic colourants.

How to Use Krya Dwii 2-Step Henna Indigo Hair Colour
Dwii is a guided 2-step Ayurvedic colouring ritual for high-grey and resistant grey hair. Both steps can be completed on the same day, but many users prefer to apply the Henna Step on Day 1 and the Indigo Step on Day 2 for a more relaxed colouring experience. Both steps are important for achieving deeper, more stable black coverage on resistant greys.
Preparing the hair before colouring
For best colour uptake, wash the hair either the previous day or on the same day before starting Step 1. Hair should be completely free from oil, silicone serums, leave-in products, conditioners and styling products. Clean hair allows the henna and indigo layers to bind more evenly and effectively to grey hair.
How much product will you need?
The amount required depends on your hair length, density and grey coverage needs.
-
Short hair – around 50 g of each step.
-
Medium-length hair – around 100 g of each step.
-
Long or dense hair – approximately 150 g or more of each step.
Always ensure the hair is fully saturated, especially at the roots and over resistant grey areas. Insufficient product is one of the most common reasons for uneven coverage and faster fading.
Before you begin
-
Section the hair neatly before application to ensure even coverage.
-
Use enough product to fully saturate the hair.
-
Keep the paste moist while processing by wrapping the hair well with a shower cap or wrap.
-
Always perform a patch test before first use.
Step 1 – Henna-based colour step
The first step creates a complete base layer on grey hair using high-lawsone Sojat henna and Ayurvedic supporting herbs. The paste may be mixed fresh before use or soaked overnight in an iron vessel if preferred. Some traditional users find that soaking henna overnight in iron helps deepen the final colour result over time.
We do not recommend adding tea, coffee or other caffeinated ingredients to the colour mix. These are sometimes used to darken the paste, but they can leave the hair feeling rough and may cause discomfort for sensitive users.
Apply the paste section by section, ensuring full and generous coverage over all grey areas. Leave on for at least 2 hours while keeping the hair wrapped and moist. Rinse thoroughly using plain room-temperature water. Do not use hot water.
After rinsing:
-
Do not shampoo.
-
Do not apply conditioner, serum or leave-in products.
-
Ensure the hair is rinsed very thoroughly before moving to the Indigo Step.
At this stage, the hair may appear orange or coppery. This is completely normal and forms the foundation required for the Indigo Step.
Step 2 – Indigo-based colour step
The second step deepens the prepared henna base into richer and more stable black coverage using indigo and Ayurvedic supporting herbs. Unlike henna, indigo should always be prepared fresh immediately before application and should not be soaked overnight.
Once mixed, begin application promptly and work section by section over the henna-coated hair. Leave on for at least 2 hours while keeping the hair wrapped and moist. Rinse thoroughly using plain room-temperature water. Avoid hot water.
Do not shampoo immediately after colouring. The colour continues to oxidise and deepen naturally over the next 24–48 hours.
What the hair may feel like initially
Henna and indigo form a natural colour layer over the hair shaft, so the hair may feel slightly stiff, dry or rough immediately after colouring. This is temporary and usually settles after the first wash and oiling cycle.
For the first wash after colouring, we strongly recommend using the Krya Creamy Hair Colour Mask. This helps improve indigo anchoring, reduce roughness and restore softness and manageability.
How to improve colour longevity
Henna and indigo are semi-permanent herbal colours that gradually soften with repeated shampooing and washing. To reduce colour fade and improve longevity:
-
Pre-oil the hair before washing.
-
Avoid over-washing.
-
Restrict shampooing to roughly twice a week wherever possible.
-
Switch from synthetic shampoos to gentle Ayurvedic hair cleansers.
For most users, we recommend beginning with:
Users with other scalp or hair concerns may choose a more specific Krya hair wash suited to their hair type. Over time, regular oiling, gentler cleansing and repeated applications help the colour anchor better and last longer. Initially, some users may experience faster fade, but with consistent use many find the colour stabilises and lasts approximately 4–6 weeks between applications.
Storing unused product
After opening, protect the powders carefully from moisture. Store the product in a zip-lock pouch or double plastic covering, and keep it in a cool, dry place. Refrigerating or freezing for longer storage is also fine if preferred. As long as moisture does not enter the powders, the product generally remains stable and usable over time.
