Synthetic hair colours ARE worrisome. They have been implicated in a whole host of disorders including non Hodgkins lymphoma, bladder cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, contact dermatitis and accelerated development of cataracts. Even if you have experienced none of the above, what you would have experienced is dry, rough and damaged hair with high hairfall and poor hair growth with repeated hair colouring.

Krya’s natural hair colour – midnight black is a semi permanent shade of dark indigo hair dye. The  colour gradually fades anytime between 2 – 4 weeks depending upon how fast your hair grows and the frequency of hair washing.

This organic indigo hair dye is formulated with Indigo, Henna and other herbs which bind naturally to your hair. Repeated colouring deepens the colour further, giving better coverage and a richer shade.

Every herb used in the Krya natural colour range is documented for hair use in the Ayurvedic texts. The product is therefore completely natural, completely safe and can be used even during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Important: Every person reacts differently to a given set of ingredients, even completely natural ingredients like ours.  Please follow the precautions listed in “How to use” tab before every use of the Krya natural hair colour product.

Shade variations when using an organic indigo hair dye:

Synthetic hair dyes give you an even shade by first bleaching out all existing colour from your hair and then adding the synthetic colour to your hair. This is why the colour you get after a synthetic hair colour / dye is even and the same shade is present throughout your hair.

Any natural hair colour simply coats your existing hair externally with the shade you have chosen. The dye uptake from your organic indigo hair dye varies depending upon the grey percentage in your hair and how your individual hair strands react to the herbs in the hair colour.

So while we have tested the hair colour on human hair swatches, you can expect variations in the colour on your hair. We do not expect these variations to be too different from the hair colour we have achieved. Also, depending upon the grey percentage in your hair, you can see variations in the colour across your hair. Grey hair usually is much more intensely coloured and visible – black or dark hair tends to take on the colour much like highlights or tints. These variations even out over repeated hair colouring.

Features & Benefits of Krya Midnight black – a dark Indigo hair dye

Description

Developed by us in-house over a year’s testing, this all natural , whole herb based Indigo hair dye uses safe Ayurvedic herbs to give your hair a rich, natural black shade without the side effects. Krya’s natural hair colour is a semi permanent shade that dyes the hair cuticle and does not penetrate the hair shaft or the cortex. Our testing indicates that the colour gradually fades anytime between 2 – 4 weeks depending upon how fast your hair grows and the frequency of hair washing.

Repeated colouring with this hair dye deepens your colour giving it a rich shade.

How do we make this natural hair colour

At Krya, we source high quality organically grown or forest-collected ayurvedic herbs from high quality organic farms, small farm cooperatives.

We clean, and shade dry each herb until it reaches the right level of dryness so it can e further processed. Then we process each herb singly. Indigo leaf is notoriously difficult to process. The plant has small thorny spikes between each leaf which stings skin when we clean and process it . (This is not present after we finish processing it). We repeatedly grind and sift Indigo leaf using an extremely fine mesh, to give organic indigo powder which releases dye pigments easily and quickly.

We singly process each herb in the Krya Midnight Black colour and sift it until they reach a similar particle size. Each herb powder is then carefully blended together before being weighed and individually packed.

Free from synthetics & Metallic salts:

As with all Krya products, the Krya hair colours are also synthetics free – the Krya hair colour range contains ONLY Ayurvedic herbs. They do not contain PPD, Ammonia, Resorcinol, tetrahydro-6-nitroquinoxaline, Eugenol, Coal Tar, Formaldehyde, DMDM Hydantoin, Eugenol, or ANY SYNTHETIC CHEMICAL.

Krya’s hair colours are also free from metallic salts and contain only hand-picked, sorted, sun dried and carefully processed Ayurvedic herbs. We process our herbs from scratch, choosing only the best quality materials. The formulations have been developed in-house after rigorous testing done over a year on human hair swatches, in-house volunteers and an independent consumer panel.

Questions and answers of the customers

  1. A We suggest picking a hair colour depending upon a) the percentage of greys and b) how dye resistant your greys are. If you have a high percentage of greys, pick our dark shades like midnight black or dwii. If your greys are dye resistant, alternate between our madyantika shades and our indigo shades to build up colour better. If you are looking only to condition your hair or give it a mild tint, or if you have an indigo allergy, choose form our Indigo free shades. You can continue to use Kshema, but we suggest combining it with another hair oil like classic, classic plus, conditioning or damage repair (based on your hair type) to strengthen your hair and build on cuticular strength. Kshema works more on mental stress.
  2. A Hi, It is not necessary for previous hair colour to go before this colour is applied. But please note that our hair colours deposit physically externally onto the hair strand. If the cuticular layer is damaged, then the colour will not deposit properly at first. So you will need perhaps 2-3 applications of the Krya hair colour to get good coverage.
  3. A Hi, Have you gone through our instructions which were sent with the product? It has detailed instructions on how to use the product. as this product is high in Indigo it cannot be mixed and applied at leisure. It has to be mixed and applied within 30 minutes on the hair.
